To commemorate this milestone each new 9030 Series Wheel Tractor produced during model year 2009 will have a special 50 years decal displayed on the tractor. The 4WD story started in 1959 when John Deere introduced its first articulated farm tractor, the 8010, at a John Deere field day near Marshalltown, Iowa. Farmers were invited to examine the tractor and view a demonstration of this new tractor along with other new equipment which would be offered for the next crop year.
The 8010, at 215 engine horsepower, was the star of the show and farmers were in awe of this giant. It was 8 feet 2-1/2-in tall to the top of its steering wheel, 8 feet wide and 19 ft 7-1/4-in from grill to drawbar and weighed 19,700 lb.
Fifty years later, John Deere’s 9630 is the flagship 4WD Tractor of the 9030 Series Tractors which was introduced in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2007. The 9630 has 530 engine horsepower. It is 13 feet tall to the top of the exhaust stack, 16-ft wide and 22 ft 6-in long. It can weight up to 57,000 lb.
To celebrate this significant milestone of 50 years of the 4WD we are offering a commemorative print titled A Powerful First Fifty Years. We have a limited supply and it is available while they last. They are on our website www.jacksonleepearson.com and sell for $59.99.

Brand New John Deere DVD – John Deere Country Part 2 - Operators
John Deere tractors are handed down from generation to generation. One contributor to this loyalty came during the depression when John Deere gave farmers extra time to pay for their equipment. The farmers stayed loyal and passed that loyalty to their sons. “My dad would never consider buying any other make of tractor,” says Hank Friday of La Porte, Indiana. “He bled green and yellow and passed that love to me. And I passed it to my son. We’re John Deere through and though and always will be.” That’s why at farm shows all over the country you see John Deere Collectibles, vintage John Deere tractors lovingly restored and proudly driven. We toured the country and found John Deere owners who have stories to tell. This DVD tells their stories and shows the tractors they love. Includes archival footage of tractors and combines from the 1920s though the 1960s filmed when they were new. 60 min.
