The first DVD features: The Inland Empire at Harvest Time from 1961 it is approximately 20 color minutes of footage from a wheat harvest in the Pacific Northwest with Hillside Combines. You will also see Des Moines and John Deere from the Late 1950s which features 20 minutes of color tour of the Des Moines Works and field footage of Two-Cylinder "20" Series Tractors. See John Deere Combines in action from the March of Harvest Time 12 minutes of color footage from 1953. Don't miss Unusual farming operations with John Deere Tractors 11 minutes of color video in Oddities in Farming from late 1953. You will also see Industrial Equipment featured in Industrial Tractors and Jobbed Equipment from late 1958 which included 19 color minutes of John Deere - Holt Forklift, logging etc.

The Second DVD features: For Better Tractor Performance a 32 minute black and white that discusses New Generation Tractor care and operation. It starts with two-cylinder footage; moves into New Generation 2010, 3010, and 4010. Compares New Generation with "730". Excellent and a must for the person with or moving into the New Generation Tractors. You will also see 19 minutes of Black and White film from late 1961 entitled Hitching and Adjusting Tractor-Drawn Moldboard Plows. Although dated 1961, this film features the "20" Series "520" and "720". Possibly the best modern plow-use film available. Easy-to-understand setup. check out 13 minutes of color footage from the new 370 Sprayer in 1963. The 1010 Crawler is shown in a variety of job site applications; construction, road building, and commercial work in the 1961 Crawler Units for Bigger Profits 31 minutes of color footage. And Finally 16 minutes of color video from 1958 John Deere Industrial Tractors and Allied Equipment. See a yellow "320" U lineup of 28 tractors; operational scenes throughout; still photos you've seen in the magazine come alive with action. There's even a "720" and "820" blowing snow.

The third DVD is all about the New Generation Tractors! you get 87 minutes mostly in color of John Deere Day Show 1961 - The 25th Anniversary. This is it; the film that introduced the New Generation Tractors! The Gordon Family and Severson Implement co. lead in to start the show, which takes you right along with the John Deere dealers that attended Deere Day in Dallas, August 30, 1960. Narration of one portion by Walter Cronkite. Aerial views and descriptions of 16 major John Deere factories. There's a wonderful inside look at engineering and testing, plus plenty of field scenes with the new tractors and equipment. This DVD is an absolute must for any John Deere devotee; even the die-hard Two-cylinder collector. It also features Farming Frontiers 1971 of approximately 20 minutes of color. It's strictly a bonus film that we had available, it features the New Generation Combines that came a decade after the tractors. Interviews with farmers from around the country, and a lot of good field scenes. Ends with a short film about John Deere Chain Saws.

John Deere Day Movies number four is an all color video and features John Deere Day from 1963. With tow years under John Deere's belt with the New Generation, this 75-minutes film provides a look inside with a 4010 cutaway tractor at a dealership. The explanation of the variable-speed engine shows how the New Generation carried through with the legendary lugging power of the Two-Cylinder Tractors. There are field scenes with new implements and introductions of new products, including the 1010 Special Row-Crop Utility Tractor - one of the most collectible (and reasonably obtainable) tractors in the New Generation lineup, it was the only regular U.S. - built and sold New Generation Tractor with a steel bucket seat. To finish up, 1960s T.V. anchor Howard K. Smith narrates visits to father-and-son-dealerships. The DVD also features Industrial Equipment 1960 where only two-cylinder tractors are featured, including the "830" I and the "840" Diesel with Hancock Scraper. Packed with footage of industrial tractors and a wide range of equipment in operation. A very significant film about the products of a fast-growing segment of the John Deere collecting hobby.

2009 Marks 50 Years of 4WD Tractors

To commemorate this milestone each new 9030 Series Wheel Tractor produced during model year 2009 will have a special 50 years decal displayed on the tractor. The 4WD story started in 1959 when John Deere introduced its first articulated farm tractor, the8010, at a John Deere field day near Marshalltown, Iowa. Farmers were invited to examine the tractor and view a demonstration of this new tractor along with other new equipment which would be offered for the next crop year.
The 8010, at 215 engine horsepower, was the star of the show and farmers were in awe of this giant. It was 8 feet 2-1/2-in tall to the top of its steering wheel, 8 feet wide and 19 ft 7-1/4-in from grill to drawbar and weighed 19,700 lb.
Fifty years later, John Deere’s 9630 is the flagship 4WD Tractor of the 9030 Series Tractors which was introduced in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2007. The 9630 has 530 engine horsepower. It is 13 feet tall to the top of the exhaust stack, 16-ft wide and 22 ft 6-in long. It can weigh up to 57,000 lb.

To commemorate this milestone each new 9030 Series Wheel Tractor produced during model year 2009 will have a special 50 years decal displayed on the tractor. The 4WD story started in 1959 when John Deere introduced its first articulated farm tractor, the 8010, at a John Deere field day near Marshalltown, Iowa. Farmers were invited to examine the tractor and view a demonstration of this new tractor along with other new equipment which would be offered for the next crop year.

The 8010, at 215 engine horsepower, was the star of the show and farmers were in awe of this giant. It was 8 feet 2-1/2-in tall to the top of its steering wheel, 8 feet wide and 19 ft 7-1/4-in from grill to drawbar and weighed 19,700 lb.

Fifty years later, John Deere’s 9630 is the flagship 4WD Tractor of the 9030 Series Tractors which was introduced in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2007. The 9630 has 530 engine horsepower. It is 13 feet tall to the top of the exhaust stack, 16-ft wide and 22 ft 6-in long. It can weight up to 57,000 lb.
